Terms of Service

These Terms are between you and SPCREATE株式会社 (the “Operator”) and are governed by 日本法.
1. Service and acceptance
JAPAN API STORE provides developer APIs, documentation, dashboards, and related tools, including Japan Address Mix API. By creating an account, using an API key, or purchasing a paid plan, you agree to these Terms and the applicable plan limits shown before purchase.
2. Accounts and API keys
You must provide accurate account information and protect your authentication factors and API keys. You are responsible for activity performed with credentials issued to your organization or project. Full API-key secrets are displayed only once; rotate or revoke a key promptly if exposure is suspected.
3. Permitted use
You may use the API commercially within your plan. You must have a lawful basis for data you submit and must not use the service to violate law, infringe rights, probe or disrupt systems, bypass limits, resell credentials, conceal abusive traffic, or build unlawful surveillance or discrimination workflows.
4. Rate limits and suspension
Each plan has per-minute and hard monthly request limits. There is no automatic overage charge. Requests may return HTTP 429 when a limit is reached. We may temporarily limit or suspend access to protect customers, official data sources, or infrastructure, or when payment, security, fraud, or legal issues require action. Suspension does not automatically delete projects or keys.
4A. Windows desktop-app license and normal-use policy
The “Can I Sell This in Japan?” Desktop Edition is licensed separately from JAPAN API STORE developer accounts. A standard one-time license permits up to two active Windows installations and has no fixed daily check limit for normal interactive use. Automated access, license sharing, credential resale, scraping, service replication, or unusually excessive traffic is prohibited. Privacy-preserving activity aggregates may be evaluated for unusual behavior. Except where immediate action is reasonably necessary for security, we use progressive enforcement: warning, temporary suspension, and then license lock. Support may review and reverse false-positive restrictions.
5. Plans, payment, and renewal
Developer is free. Starter and Growth are monthly USD subscriptions processed by Stripe. The current price, applicable taxes, billing interval, and payment method are shown before order confirmation. Paid subscriptions renew monthly until canceled. Stripe, not JAPAN API STORE, processes complete payment-card details.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel through the billing portal. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid billing period, and access remains subject to the subscription state until then. We do not provide prorated refunds for a partially used period except where required by law or where we confirm a duplicate or erroneous charge. Details appear in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
7. API changes, maintenance, and discontinuation
We may update schemas, limits, documentation, data sources, or infrastructure. We will use reasonable efforts to announce material breaking changes and provide migration information where practical. Maintenance, emergency security work, upstream-data issues, and service interruptions may occur. No uptime SLA or 24/7 support commitment applies unless separately agreed in writing.
8. Address data and result quality
Results may be matched, partial, ambiguous, or not found. Confidence is an evidence grade, not a probability or guarantee. Official datasets can contain omissions, differing update dates, and areas without coordinates. Match level and coordinate level are reported separately, and preview or best-effort data is identified where applicable. You must validate results for your use case.
9. Intellectual property
The Operator and its licensors retain rights in the service, software, documentation, branding, and original materials. Public datasets remain subject to their source terms and attribution requirements. These Terms grant only the limited right to use the service under your plan; they do not transfer ownership.
10. Third-party services
Authentication, payment processing, marketplace distribution, and official datasets may depend on WorkOS, Stripe, RapidAPI, Japan Post, Japan’s Digital Agency, and other providers. Their terms may apply separately. We are not responsible for a third party’s independent service, but we remain responsible for our own processing as required by applicable law.
11. Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, complete address coverage, or error-free results, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
12. Termination
You may stop using the service and cancel a paid subscription at any time. We may terminate an account for material breach, unlawful use, fraud, serious security risk, or where continued service is legally prohibited. Records required for billing, security, dispute handling, or legal compliance may be retained after termination.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by 日本法, without prejudice to mandatory rights that apply to you. Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, the district court with jurisdiction over the Operator’s principal office has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance.
